Snit finishes in Miss World Top 6 as Dominican Republic takes crown

Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin completed Eritrea's first Miss World campaign as a Top 6 finalist on September 5, while Joheirry Mola Domínguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Snit entered the live final among the Top 40 after winning the African round of the People's Choice vote. She was not named among the judges' Top 20 selections, but her campaign continued through the public-vote route, with Eritrea and Nigeria advancing directly into the Top 12 as the two global leaders.

In the final People's Choice round, Eritrea finished first with 13,946,027 points, ahead of Nigeria on 8,033,084. The victory secured Snit the People's Choice place in the Top 6, where she joined Malaysia, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Vietnam and Spain. South Africa was named the continental winner for Africa.

Joheirry Mola Domínguez was crowned at the end of the show. For Eritrea, the final closed a debut marked by a Top 6 finish, the People's Choice title, sustained public support and international attention for Snit's Designing for Diversity disability-inclusion initiative.
