Eritrea wins People's Choice as Snit reaches Miss World Top 6

Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin won the Miss World 2026 People's Choice Award on September 5, securing Eritrea a direct place in the Top 6 during the final in Vietnam.

The official Eventista leaderboard closed with Eritrea first on 13,946,027 points, ahead of Nigeria's Soye Karibi-George in second place on 8,033,084. Under Miss World's published competition format, the final People's Choice winner advances directly from the Top 12 to the Top 6.

The result marks another breakthrough in Eritrea's first Miss World participation. Snit had already won the African round of People's Choice voting to reach the Top 40 before joining Nigeria as one of the two global public-vote qualifiers for the Top 12.

Her campaign combined strong public support with Eritrean cultural representation and Designing for Diversity, her initiative promoting disability inclusion and inclusive education.
