Eritrea complete final Cairo session before South Africa clash

Eritrea completed their final training session at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on Tuesday, closing preparations for Wednesday’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against Group D leaders South Africa.

The Red Sea Camels trained on the match pitch after arriving in Egypt from Nairobi, where they opened their campaign with a 1–1 draw against Kenya. South Africa began with a 2–1 win over Guinea and lead the group with three points, two ahead of Eritrea.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Cairo, or 16:00 GMT. Kenya are already qualified as a tournament co-host, leaving Eritrea, South Africa and Guinea competing for the remaining Group D place. A victory would lift Eritrea above South Africa after two matches.
