Eritrea coaches report high spirits before Kenya qualifier

Eritrea entered the final stage of preparations in Nairobi on Friday with strong morale and growing cohesion ahead of their opening AFCON 2027 Group D qualifier against Kenya, according to the Eritrean National Football Federation.

ENFF technical director Daniel Yohannes said the Red Sea Camels were in high spirits, while assistant coach Ermias Tewelde highlighted the progress made in bringing together players from different regions. Goalkeeping coach Abraham Melake said he was satisfied with the performance of the team’s new goalkeepers during the camp.

The squad has trained in Nairobi since 21 September. Eritrea face Kenya at Nyayo National Stadium at 4 p.m. East Africa Time on Saturday before meeting South Africa in Cairo on 30 September.
